Natural & more neutral colors are office-friendly and perfect for women who can’t do a dramatic change with their hair at work. Peekaboo highlights can be worn by anyone! You can go for a dramatic neon color that is party-perfect, or you can go for a light beige or blonde if you are a minimalistic person. This is why most women prefer getting bright-colored peekaboo highlights – they will look amazing with that pop of color. They are also easy to spot if you go for a wavy hairstyle. However, once you put it in a ponytail these highlights will be quite visible. These are applied underneath the top layer of your hair, and they are not as easy to spot once you wear your hair down. Peekaboo highlights are called like so for the obvious reason – they are trying to give you that ‘peekaboo’ moment. Keep on reading and explore different highlights down below that will suit you! I purchased my K-BOND PLEX™ hair dye at Walmart in the cosmetics/pharmacy area:īe sure to grab your Ibotta coupon for professional quality hair color at home that is easy to use and produces beautiful color results that last! Check out the other color offerings here. My daughter was a little jealous of my new hair color, so I dyed an extension with the color and hot glued it inside a hair band for her so she could have a dramatic purple streak to match. I found that the color is not really noticeable when I leave my hair curly – it really blends in and just adds some depth – but when I straighten it, you can really see the purple! Wait the allotted time (30 minutes for me) and rinse out hair before applying the keratin conditioner. (If you get hair dye on any part of your skin, rub it off immediately with a baby wipe.) Use the comb to divide your hair – only leave down the hair that you want to dye.įollow the directions in the K-BOND PLEX™ box to dye that section of hair.

The only things you need to do a fun peek-a-boo hair color at home is a comb and the contents of your K-BOND PLEX™ hair dye box.īrush or comb out your dry, clean hair to start. It’s this richly dark purple (almost black) color that I knew would add depth to my natural brown color, while adding a pop of purple when I put my hair up or styled it to show it off. Since I wasn’t looking for anything high maintenance, I decided to do a Peek-A-Boo Color with their Rich Caviar color. I couldn’t find any pictures online of people who had used the product (it’s pretty new) so I texted my friend who is a hair dresser at a salon that I can’t afford and she assured me that my hair was in good hands with Schwarzkopf. They also developed a pre-treatment for even color results and promises 100% gray coverage (I only have a few, but I don’t want to see them). So my hair would be stronger after using K-BOND PLEX™ than it was without any dye in it! K-BOND PLEX™ is salon inspired anti-breakage technology that repairs the inner hair structure for strong and healthy looking hair with up to 80% less breakage compared to untreated hair. So when Schwarzkopf asked if I would try their K-BOND PLEX™ to add some color to my hair, I did some research before committing. I still want to have fun with my hair and add unexpected pops of color when I can, but I also am not willing to invest hundreds of dollars or commit to something that’s going to look horrible if I can’t make it to the salon every 4-6 weeks. Two very expensive salon visits went into trying to achieve the rose gold color and it barely lasted two weeks before my hair needed a touch-up. Last year, I tried purple highlights and also *tried* to do a rose gold bayalage. While I work at home and can get away with a lot more with my hair in terms of adding fun colors, I’m also pretty low-maintenance. This shop has been compensated by Schwarzkopf.
